10th Cities for Sustainable Public Finance (CSPF) Meeting in the City of London

Recently, the Cities for Sustainable Public Finances (CSPF) met for their 10th time in London focusing on how cities are leading the way in adopting new technologies, with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence. Discussions highlighted how cities are moving beyond static PDF reports towards open and usable data, especially for urban planning. Participants explored the growing importance of AI agents and the need for strong data infrastructures like data warehouses. Real-world examples, such as Hamburg’s LLMoin initiative, demonstrated how AI is already being integrated into digital ecosystems.




New Factsheet: Digital Innovation Hubs and GOVTECH for Local Governments

How can local governments in Southeast Europe successfully navigate digital transformation? Building on the study Empowering Progress with Digital Transition in Western Balkan and Moldova Local Governments (2023), the new factsheet 'Digital Innovation Hubs and GOVTECH for Local Governments' by NALAS and KDZ highlights how collaboration with start-ups and innovation hubs opens new paths for citizen-centered, efficient public services. The factsheet is a product of the BACID project with funding from the Austrian Development Cooperation.



Invitation to the Next CAF Practitioners Network Meeting

On 12 of June the experiences and insights of the Municipality of Anderlecht (Brussels) in connecting CAF with internal control systemswill be presented at the next CAF Practitioners Network. Since 2019, the Municipality of Anderlecht has used CAF to support the development of its internal control system. This session shows how CAF and internal control are integrated to promote continuous improvement (PDCA logic) and enhance service delivery across all departments.



Reinforcing Local and Regional Resilience:  A Call to Action

In times of global challenges resilient local and regional governments are key to a sustainable and inclusive future. The OECD has issued a strong Call to Action: “Reinforcing Local and Regional Resilience”. It urges national governments to work closely with local and regional actors to strengthen resilience, inclusion, and sustainable growth.
KDZ actively promotes multilevel governance and supports the vision of resilient, innovative, and citizen-centered public administration.
